Dear Friend,

The last two weeks have had a negative impact on thousands of our neighbors, which is why it made me angry to hear the most extreme members of the House talk about “winning” the shutdown.  When I look at my district, it’s obvious that the people are losing if their government is not open.  This was a reckless way for the House Majority to manage the largest economy in the world, but with a deal in place it is now time to move on and find common sense solutions to fix our problems.

With Congress out of session until next week, I will be home to host a town hall style event at Grossmont College on Monday evening to hear how you think Congress should address the top issues facing our country.  Details are below.  I hope to see you there!

Warm regards,
