Congresswoman Susan Davis on Supreme Court Ruling Against Workers’ Rights
WASHINGTON – Rep. Susan Davis (CA-53), a senior member of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, released the following statement on the Supreme Court ruling against public unions in Janus v. AFSCME.
“I am very disappointed by the Supreme Court's decision. As a former school board member, I saw firsthand that everyone who is represented in their workplace by a negotiating process enjoys the benefits of union leadership.
“This ruling is a blow to the middle class. It weakens the ability of workers to negotiate for better pay, workplace safety, work/life balance, health care and paid sick days.”
